Considering a Google TV as your “second box”? In order to choose it over the Boxee Box, Roku, and Apple TV (to name a few), it’s going to have to have a solid feature list, and it’s definitely going to need apps.
All that, with more coming from the Android Market. That’s right–devs better get going now before the party starts without them.

After all, it would behoove content owners to make their content available for sale/rental on as many boxes as possible, especially as more people turn these “second boxes” into their primary one.
As for the bottom half–VEVO,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], HBO, Turner,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and others–those are where the Google TV is starting to separate itself from the pack. No company, not even Apple,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], has been able to pull together a really impressive content pool, but Google looks like they are going to hit the ground running. With some early success, or at least a sustained effort, they could add more.

Overall, that apps are basically the same package we’ve seen with every set top box competitor, but those are what they need to survive. Any box missing one would seem woefully incomplete compared to the rest, despite the numerous ways you can already stream, say, Netflix (I have at least six).
